At CHSO, we are seeking three exceptional leaders to join our team and drive the success of our organization while promoting our Catholic mission. Each role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our operations, governance, and strategic direction.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the organization’s operations, financial management and property stewardship, and contribute to the strategic planning process. This critical leadership role includes developing strategies for managing our properties, supporting congregations’ future needs, and exploring new mission opportunities. The COO will also oversee cash flow planning, real estate holdings, investment activities, human resources, and IT processes. Key responsibilities include leading financial operations, including payroll, invoicing, banking, and investment management, developing strategies for property development, leasing, and redevelopment, and ensuring that risk management strategies and financial controls are in place. The COO will provide strategic guidance to the CEO and Board while managing relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in finance, operations, and real estate management, with a strong expertise in corporate finance, risk management, and problem-solving.

The Director, Governance will play a crucial role in overseeing and strengthening our governance and corporate operations. In this leadership position, the Director will serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, Senior Leadership, and CHSO’s sponsored Communities of Service Boards, ensuring effective governance and communication. The Director will oversee the integrity of the governance framework, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, coordinating board recruitment and onboarding, and promoting good governance practices throughout the organization. Additionally, the Director will provide strategic advice to the CHSO Board to support their decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in corporate governance or corporate secretary roles in large organizations, with a deep understanding of corporate law, governance principles, and policy formation. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate and influence senior executives and board members, are essential for success in this role.

The Director, Healthy Communities will oversee the following portfolios: Indigenous Resurgence, Peace, Integrity of Creation and Climate Change and Justice and Poverty Reduction. The Director will focus on driving the successful implementation of CHSO’s upcoming strategic plan, ensuring operational stability, growth, and long-term sustainability.  They will be deeply committed to advocacy and activism, working to strengthen and streamline internal operations for improved efficiency and long-term sustainability This role will enhance internal operations, strengthen relationships with CHSO’s sponsored organizations, and promote Catholic identity. The Director will work closely with the CEO to build a high-functioning executive team capable of advancing CHSO’s mission and vision while mitigating risks. Key responsibilities include leading the development and execution of the strategic plan, supporting the formation and ethical practices of CHSO’s sponsored organizations, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing leadership team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in operations management, strategic planning, and leadership development, with a strong understanding of Catholic identity and values in mission-driven organizations.
