Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a two-site hospital that provides a broad range of clinical programs and services to Muskoka and area. With hospitals in Huntsville and Bracebridge, it currently provides emergency services and inpatient care, supported through a number of outpatient programs at both hospital sites and at the Almaguin Highlands Health Centre in Burk's Falls. To support the needs of the growing communities that it services, the hospital’s Board of Directors has endorsed a proposal, to the Ministry of Health, to build new hospitals in both Huntsville and Bracebridge in the future. As further evidence of investment in the region, in 2019 the MOH announced the creation of the Muskoka and Area Ontario Health Team (MAOHT), in which Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare plays an active role.
With the retirement of a highly successful, long-tenured President & Chief Executive Officer, the organization now seeks a talented, innovative and experienced healthcare leader who will report to and support the Board of MAHC and who will be accountable for the overall direction and effective strategic and operational leadership of MAHC.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive executive leadership experience within a complex healthcare environment, ideally in a multi-site community hospital within a rural setting, complemented by a MHSc, MHA, MD, MBA degree or equivalent; certification by the Canadian College of Health Leaders is an asset. The organization’s new leader will be a passionate healthcare visionary who leads by example and possesses a commitment to building and leading in a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, equity, and a high degree of customer service.
Muskoka is a collection of wonderful communities that make up the most popular cottage country area in Ontario. With over 1,600 lakes, thousands of acres of green forest, and an abundance of amenities, it is a truly magical place in which to live.
