Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer 

The Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer (VP, Finance & CFO) reports to the President & CEO of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network. The VP, Finance & CFO will provide strategic leadership to build financial position for the organization (approximately $427M) including creating balanced budgets, developing strong working capital position and “local share” for Redevelopment. In this challenging and fast-paced role, the VP, Finance and CFO will provide vision and guidance to the Finance and Decision Support portfolio, ensuring that the critical financial services on which the organization depends are seamlessly maintained and strategically aligned to achieve organizational objectives. As a key member of the Executive Team, they will advise the President & CEO on the development of a corporate strategy and apply a finance lens to corporate and strategic planning. They will act as a key business enabler for the hospital, linking information management, technology, decision support and finance to enhance decision-making.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 15 years’ senior management experience in Finance, preferably within the healthcare sector, along with previous experience serving and/or reporting to a Board of Directors. They will demonstrate strong technical knowledge and skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a collaborative style and an ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization. Experience with Ministry of Health and Ontario Health reporting requirements is preferred and knowledge of taxation practices relevant to healthcare facilities in Ontario and commercialization opportunities is required. Experience managing the financial aspects of a large redevelopment, and sound knowledge of risk assessment and management would be also an asset.
