Penny has 20 years of experience working in executive search, 16 of which have been with a large global firm, where she focussed on recruiting executives in the health care sector. For the last 8 years, Penny has led the National Healthcare Practice and has conducted leadership searches in most provinces, giving her a unique lens on the various systems across the country. Penny has led some 400 recruitments for a range of health care providers, including hospitals, government, health agencies and membership organizations.
Penny has a passion for the healthcare sector. She is inspired every day by the people and organizations she serves and by the opportunities she has had to match leaders with organizations where they will drive change and impact lives. This work has been a privilege.

Hayley has almost 20 years of experience in executive search, the majority of which she has dedicated to partnering with healthcare clients to recruit their top talent. As a former Partner in a global executive search firm with a blended background of supporting both public and private sector clients, Hayley has developed an extensive network of healthcare leaders from across the country.
She brings expertise from strategy development and research, to candidate attraction and assessment through to client engagement and support. Hayley invests in her clients, building strong relationships and partnerships to truly understand their needs.
Hayley is a professional, with the experience and skill to deliver great outcomes for her clients. More than that, she is recognized for her genuine and engaging style. She is authentic and truly enjoys the human contact that her business affords. Hayley is able to put people at ease and have candid discussions about their careers and their relative fit for a given leadership role. Hayley holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University and completed the Rotman-ICD NFP Governance Essentials course. Hayley currently serves as Board Chair for Williamson Road Childcare Centre, a licensed fee-based before-and after-school program serving students in Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Sarah AdamsPrincipal and Lead, Healthcare Philanthropy
Sarah has 15 years of experience in executive search, focusing primarily on the health care, not-for-profit, and academic sectors, recruiting senior level executives and board directors. Sarah has gained valuable experience in both a global executive search firm, as well as Toronto and Vancouver-based boutique firms. In addition to her successful track record in executive search, Sarah has experience in career transition/management and governance advisory services. This diverse experience has enhanced her ability to have meaningful discussions with senior executives about their own careers and fit with her client’s roles. During her career, she has carved out a niche in development and advancement search work and has built an international network of fundraisers across sectors. She has extensive experience working with hospital foundations, community health organizations and healthcare charities across Canada.
Sarah has chosen to dedicate her career to making a meaningful impact to organizations that contribute to a better society. She cares deeply about partnering with clients and candidates to provide genuine, honest advice, guidance and feedback through transition. Sarah truly enjoys coaching and supporting candidates throughout the process and values the long-term relationships she has built throughout her career.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Brock University. Sarah currently serves on the Board of Directors at ACT.
Natalie has over 10 years of experience in executive search. She has supported a variety of search teams in a wide range of industries at both global and boutique firms. Along with her friendly and positive outlook, Natalie brings an inquisitive mind, curiosity, professional manner, and her solution orientation to the Mirams Becker team.
As a Principal, Natalie’s role is to ensure that our clients benefit from thorough candidate research, as well as market and sector intelligence. Natalie works with the Partners to build out strategic target lists for each search, identifying potential candidates and sources, and providing profile data for target organizations and candidates. Natalie attended Ryerson University and Seneca College.
Noelle SmithManager, Search Operations & Proposals
Noelle brings over 20 years of experience to Mirams Becker, including 8 years as a Project Coordinator in both boutique and global executive search firms. Prior roles in office management, customer service and administrative accounting have provided Noelle with a well-rounded and versatile skill set, which serves her well when assisting clients and candidates throughout every aspect of the search process.
Noelle brings a sense of “calm under pressure” to her role and strives to provide that same peace of mind and confidence to clients and candidates alike.

Dawn LiddellResearch Associate
Dawn comes to Mirams Becker from the healthcare education sector, where she worked at Michener Institute of Education at UHN for almost a decade. Dawn worked in administration prior to joining the Communications and Marketing department, where her portfolio included alumni engagement.
Dawn attended George Brown College for Health Information, Medical Records Technology. Dawn supports the team in fresh research and targeted market mapping for each recruitment.
John A. KingExecutive Advisor
John is a leader in his field with over 40 years of health-care experience. After leading several hospitals in western Canada, (Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary Regional Health Authority and Alberta Hospital Association), John relocated to Ontario in 1999 to become the Assistant Deputy Minister of Programs in the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. John then joined St. Michael’s Hospital in 2002 as EVP and Chief Administrative Officer.
John has a Masters of Health Administration (MHA) from the University of Ottawa and a B.A. (Economics/Math) from the University of Western Ontario. A certified health executive (CHE) with the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL), he was appointed chair of the college board in June 2010. In June 2019 John received the highest honour from the Canadian College of Health Leaders - the distinguished Health Leader Award.
John retired in November 2012 but is currently involved in numerous consulting activities in the healthcare industry, including Huron Studer Group Canada and executive search with Mirams Becker. John's national healthcare network is second-to-none and will be of great value to our clients.
Carissa GravelleAdvisor, Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Carissa Gravelle (she/her) is a registered social service worker in community development. Carissa describes herself as a social justice and change advocate. She is passionate about anti-racism, diversity, inclusion, young people, under-represented populations, mental health, and wellness. She has worked in the non-profit sector for over a decade spearheading EDI initiatives, training, and programs.
Carissa’s educational background is in social service work. She completed her diploma from Sheridan College and holds a Bachelors in Equity, Diversity and Human Rights from Laurentian University. Carissa has been on the board of Ribbon Rouge Foundation since January 2020 and is passionate about advancing health equity for marginalized populations and believes in the importance educating through story-telling and intentional meaningful community conversations to change perceptions and inspire social change.
Tom MagyarodyAdvisor, Leadership Assessment
Tom Magyarody, P. Eng, MBA, ICD.D CEC has over 25 years in executive leadership in the health care sector, with a combined 17 years as CEO of the Ontario Medical Association and Ontario Dental Association. He is ICD.D certified, with 28 years as an active Board Director on for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, including: Blue Pier Pension Administration Inc., Canadian Medical Foundation, OntarioMD, Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences and University of Toronto Schools.
In addition to supporting Mirams Becker with executive assessments and executive coaching, Tom is CEO of TSM Executive Coaching and Consulting. His objective is to help C-Suite and Directors in the health care industry become transformational leaders, and help up-and-coming young leaders exceed their dreams while positively impacting society.
Tom is Hogan Personality Assessment Certified, a Certified Executive Coach (Royal Roads University) and a member of the International Coaching Federation.
