Placement: Hamilton Health Sciences appoints Dr. Fayez Quereshy as Executive Vice President, Academic & Chief Medical Executive
Mirams Becker is thrilled to share that Dr. Fayez Quereshy has been selected as Hamilton Health Science’s new Executive Vice President, Academic and Chief Medical Executive, beginning February 2nd.
Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) is a multi-site hospital network providing specialized, advanced care at the provincial, regional and community levels. They are a renowned academic and training institution, consistently ranked among Canada’s top research-intensive hospitals with globally recognized expertise in our areas of clinical specialty.
As the new EVP & CME and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, Dr. Quereshy will work with other senior clinical and administrative leaders to ensure effective communication and integration of medical, clinical and administrative operations. He will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of clinical education for medical learners, including undergraduate and postgraduate trainees, and will also partner with educators and clinical teams to enhance learning opportunities for non-physician health care professionals, to foster and sustain the next generation of providers of high quality interprofessional care.
Dr. Quereshy joined HHS from the University Health Network in 2024 as Interim VP, Clinical and Executive Lead for Hamilton General Hospital. At UHN, he served as Executive Site Lead for Toronto General Hospital and as Clinical Vice President responsible for the Surgery & Critical Care Program, the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, the Transplant Centre, Arthritis Program, and Anesthesia. During his time at HHS, he has worked closely with surgical and medical leaders to support safe, high-quality care delivery and strengthen academic and clinical alignment. He brings a practical approach to continuous improvement grounded in frontline experience and informed by formal training in hospital operations and systems efficiency.
Dr. Quereshy is a graduate of McMaster University and, upon joining HHS, Dr. Quereshy will also hold an appointment as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University.
