Executive, Connected Care – Canada Health Infoway

Canada Health Infoway is Canada's national digital health organization, working in partnership with federal, provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous organizations, healthcare providers and industry to advance a more connected, interoperable and patient centred health system. As the organization celebrates its 25th anniversary, it is entering an exciting new chapter. Building on a strong legacy of advancing digital health infrastructure across Canada, Infoway is evolving its role as the national convener, strategic advisor and catalyst for digital transformation, helping jurisdictions align around common priorities, standards and innovative approaches that improve care for Canadians.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive, Connected Care will provide executive leadership for one of the organization's most critical portfolios. This individual will be responsible for strengthening and executing a national strategy that advances connected care across Canada, bringing together governments, health system leaders, clinicians, Indigenous partners and private sector organizations to drive meaningful change. Working at the intersection of health policy, clinical practice and technology, the Executive will champion interoperability, digital health standards, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies that improve the patient and provider experience while strengthening health system performance.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity requiring an individual who is equally comfortable developing strategy, influencing national policy and rolling up their sleeves to solve complex challenges and to execute delivery. The Executive will lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for product management, architecture and standards, technology development, program delivery and operational excellence, ensuring that national initiatives are delivered effectively and generate measurable value. The successful candidate will cultivate a high performing, collaborative culture while providing leadership to a talented team of professionals who are passionate about improving healthcare through innovation.
A significant component of the role involves building trusted relationships across Canada's health system. The Executive will serve as a senior representative of the organization with federal, provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous partners, deputy ministers, health authority executives, clinicians, technology vendors and national associations. They will foster alignment across jurisdictions, influence digital health priorities, support the development and adoption of national standards, and position Infoway as a trusted partner in modernizing Canada's healthcare system. The ability to influence, navigate competing priorities and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups will be essential.
The ideal candidate will bring 15 or more years of progressive senior leadership experience and a broad understanding of Canada's health system, with significant exposure in advancing digital health across one or more care settings such as primary care, hospitals, community care, long-term care and public health. Their career may have spanned provider organizations, government, digital health agencies, consulting and the private sector, enabling them to engage credibly with governments, clinicians, health system leaders and industry partners while advancing jurisdictional or national connected care priorities. They will possess expertise in digital health, interoperability, data governance, clinical workflows and emerging technologies, together with a strong understanding of the legislative and policy environments that influence healthcare delivery. They will be a collaborative, strategic leader with the credibility to build partnerships, influence without authority and lead complex transformation across jurisdictions.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a collaborative, visionary and purpose driven leader to shape the future of connected care in Canada. The successful candidate will join the organization at a pivotal time, influencing national digital health priorities, helping to define the next chapter of Canada's connected health strategy and ultimately improving the way healthcare is delivered for millions of Canadians.
