Executive Director – Access Alliance

Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services is a community-governed nonprofit organization advancing health equity for immigrants, refugees, and underserved communities across Toronto. Through interdisciplinary primary health care, mental health supports, settlement services, research, and advocacy, Access Alliance addresses systemic barriers and promotes access to care grounded in anti-oppressive practice and community partnership.
Access Alliance is entering an important leadership transition. Building on decades of trusted impact, the next Executive Director will guide the organization into its next chapter of strategic evolution. The environment continues to shift, with primary care transformation, expanded hub leadership responsibilities, and ongoing advocacy for refugee and uninsured populations shaping the landscape. The successful candidate will lead with clarity, align to the organization’s values and culture, demonstrate a strong systems perspective, and adhere to strong policy-based governance.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides overall organizational leadership and strategic direction. They will ensure that programs and services align with strategic priorities and community needs, oversee financial stewardship and operational performance, and serve as a key liaison with funders, partners, and stakeholders. As the public face of the organization, the Executive Director will represent and advocate for Access Alliance while fostering strong relationships across the health and community sectors.
The Executive Director will lead a skilled senior team and cultivate a culture of accountability, inclusion, and collaboration. They will support strategic planning, resource development, organizational effectiveness, and sustainable growth, ensuring the organization remains responsive to emerging community needs and sector dynamics.
The ideal candidate is a senior leader with experience in health care, community health, or a related sector. They bring a strong understanding of the social determinants of health, newcomer and refugee communities, nonprofit operations, and stakeholder engagement. With sound judgment, political acuity, and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences, they are able to translate vision into action while building trust and alignment internally and externally.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected organization at a pivotal moment in the evolution of primary care and community health in Toronto.
