Placement: Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario appoints Jessica Katul as Director, Governance & Leah Watkiss as Director of Healthy Communities

Mirams Becker is thrilled to share that Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario has selected Jessica Katul as the new Director, Governance (effective July 21, 2025) and Leah Watkiss as the new Director of Healthy Communities (effective July 28, 2025).

As the new Director, Governance, Jessica will help advance CHSO’s mission of supporting those who are experiencing vulnerability in a complex and challenging health and social care environment, while also providing guidance to their Sponsored Organizations.

Jessica joins CHSO with over 15 years of experience in healthcare, life sciences and governance positions, having been previously employed by a firm that specializes in supporting boards of directors in good governance practices that lead to organizational success. Jessica is also a lawyer who holds a Bachelor of Medical Sciences Degree from Western University and a Doctorate of Health Law from York University. She is passionate about continuous learning and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to CHSO.

As the new Director, Healthy Communities, Leah will lead the Operational Division of CHSO: the Providence Centre of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.

Leah joins CHSO with over 13 years of experience in the field of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation, being previously employed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto as the Ministry Director in the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Office. Leah holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Social Justice and Peace Studies from King’s University College and a Master’s Degree of Peace and Justice from the University of San Diego. She is passionate about her work and will bring a wealth of knowledge, leadership and expertise to CHSO and to the Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation team within CHSO.
