Placement: Fontbonne Ministries appoints Moussa Nyabenda as Director of Programs and Partnerships
Mirams Becker is thrilled to share that Moussa Nyabenda has been selected as Fontbonne Ministries’ new Director of Programs and Partnerships, beginning February 2nd.
Fontbonne Ministries is a community dedicated to fostering dignity and creating positive change. Founded on the inspiring legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph, they offer programs focusing on food security, outreach for isolated individuals, community building, and creative expression, aiming to foster dignity and a sense of belonging for the vulnerable.
As the Director of Programs and Partnerships, Moussa will play a key role in overseeing the operational and programming aspects of Fontbonne Ministries while driving innovation and change to enhance the services provided to the community. Moussa will collaborate directly with the Executive Director to implement new strategic, and people plans, while working closely with program leads to design, implement, and evaluate services focused on food security, housing, and friendly visiting services for marginalized populations.
With over 20 years of leadership in social services, program development, and community-based housing, Moussa brings a proven track record of impact and collaboration. Most recently, he served as Director of Programs and Services at Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth, leading multidisciplinary teams across shelter, housing, mental health, harm reduction, and outreach services. Guided by a deep commitment to inclusion, equity, and trauma-informed care, Moussa’s leadership approach emphasizes compassion, cultural humility, and continuous improvement.
Moussa received his Bachelor of Educational Psychology from the University of Burundi and his Master of Education from the University of Ottawa.
