Placement: Teladoc Health Canada appoints Dr. Alex Ferguson as new Chief Medical Officer

Headquartered in Toronto, Teladoc Health Canada has more than 20 years of experience delivering virtual and hybrid health care to millions of Canadians coast to coast. Through experiences and learnings from Teladoc Health providing services in over 175 countries across the world, Teladoc Health Canada has access to world-class research and innovation, enhancing care delivery while maintaining a strong Canadian focus.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Alex Ferguson will lead clinical strategy, quality oversight, and provider engagement across a diverse portfolio of virtual and hybrid healthcare services. He will support care delivery across employer health programs, health system partnerships, and integrated clinical models, with a focus on safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care.

A practicing Emergency Physician and former Emergency Medicine Clinical Lead for Ontario Health (West), Dr. Ferguson brings extensive leadership experience across hospital and regional health systems. As Chief of Staff at Guelph General Hospital, he advanced quality initiatives, strengthened physician engagement, and helped shape clinical strategy.

With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ferguson is known for translating frontline insights into practical solutions that improve outcomes for patients and providers. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine from Western University.
