Placement: VHA Home HealthCare appoints Janelle Backan as new Senior Director, Integrated Client & Community Care

Mirams Becker is thrilled to share that Janelle Backan has been selected as VHA Home HealthCare’s new Senior Director, Integrated Client & Community Care.

VHA Home HealthCare (VHA) is one of the largest not-for-profit providers of publicly-funded home care in Ontario, with a team of over 3,000 homecare specialists providing personal support, nursing, rehab and community support services in Toronto and the GTA as well as in London, Kingston, and Ottawa.

As the new Senior Director, Integrated Client & Community Care, Janelle will lead high-performing teams to deliver programs and services while driving strategic business growth. She will provide leadership to expand service capacity, lead the implementation of high-impact improvement initiatives, and build solid relationships with strategic partners. 

With over 15 years of leadership experience, Janelle brings a systems-focused approach to advancing equitable, person-centred care. Her leadership is grounded in building and engaging high-performing, values-driven teams and fostering strong partnerships across hospitals, primary care, and community organizations. She is recognized for her strong political acuity and deep knowledge of the home care sector.

Janelle received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University, and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Western University.
